Magnuson Foundation dinner to be benefit for area students



Proceeds will be used to establish a scholarship in the field of criminal justice.
BOARDMAN -- The first Magnuson Foundation fundraising dinner and dance will be held Sept. 22 at Mr. Anthony's.
The event has been planned in memory of the late Sgt. Robert Magnuson, who was Canfield's assistant police chief, and proceeds will be used to establish a Magnuson Scholarship in the field of justice at Youngstown State University.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $35.
The evening will begin with a social hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a dinner featuring roast beef and gravy, cavatelli and meatballs, roasted Italian chicken, potato, vegetable, salad, rolls, cake, and beverages. There will be dancing afterward.
A Chinese auction, silent auction and 50-50 raffle to begin at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Winners do not have to be present.
