'Love of a Pig' at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN -- Blackbox Productions at Youngstown State University will open its season with the comedy, "Love of a Pig" by Leslie Caveny. The play will open Thursday at Spotlight Arena in Bliss Hall on the YSU campus.
"Love of a Pig" is about a young female violinist (played by Stephanie Ottey of Beaver Falls, Pa.) who is pleased with her life -- except when it comes to men. It chronicles her pursuit of a brooding bass player (Tony Genovese of West Middlesex, Pa.) that she mistakenly assumes is "Mr. Right."
Richard H. Bell of Austintown is the director.
Curtain times are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sept. 10. There will also be an 11 p.m. performance Saturday.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for YSU students, faculty and staff and senior citizens. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue parking deck for a nominal fee. For more information, contact the University Theater Box Office at (330) 941-3105.
Antiques festival
COLUMBIANA -- Antiques in the Woods returns to Shaker Woods next weekend with more than 80 antique and collectible dealers who display and sell their products in a beautiful wooded setting.
Live musical entertainment will be provided by Get Out And Push and Beaver Creek. Exhibits include antique tractors, hit and miss engines, antique and classic cars, and soap-making demonstrations. A variety of food will be offered.
The dates and hours of the show are Saturday and Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Daily general admission tickets, available at the gate, are $6 for adults (children 12 and under are admitted free). Bus tours are welcome and group rates are available.

Bus to Warhol Museum
KENT -- In conjunction with the Sept. 20 national premiere of "American Masters, Andy Warhol: A Documentary Film," PBS-TV 45/49 is sponsoring a day trip to Pittsburgh's Andy Warhol Museum on Sept. 30.
A chartered bus will leave Southern Park Mall in Boardman at 10:30 a.m. The trip includes a screening of the film, plus lunch and a guided museum tour. The cost is $10 for PBS 45/49 members and $15 for nonmembers. Reservations are required by calling (800) 554-4549.
The "American Masters" documentary about Warhol airs at 9 p.m. over two nights, Sept. 20-21. Directed by Ric Burns, it tells how Warhol uniquely grasped the realities of modern society, particularly the function of celebrity and the mass media.
Eder and Feinsteinopen Celebrity Series
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College Celebrity Series opens its season Sept. 16 with Linda Eder and Michael Feinstein in Orr Auditorium.
"Feinstein and Eder are among America's top concert, night club and Broadway stage performers," said Gene DeCaprio, director of the series.

TAG offers classes
WARREN -- The Trumbull Art Gallery fall schedule of art classes is now available, and registrations are in progress at the gallery, 196-198 E. Market St.
Fall classes begin Sept. 12 and run for varying lengths, from one day workshops to six weeks. This session, TAG offers 18 classes for children and adults.

Cut-glass antiques
WARREN -- "Diamonds In Your China Cabinet" will be the topic of a program at the Sutliff Museum at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 12. Antique cut glass will be discussed and examples shown by Linda Jo Hare, of Northville, Mich.
Hare, a collector and a lecturer on the subject, is a regional president of the American Cut Glass Association. She has given many people new understanding of treasures they often have tucked away in their china cabinets. Reservations are required by Tuesday for the free program.
