NOTEBOOK Generations Bowling Tour

Volunteers: In addition to the GBT and Camelot staff on hand, there are some 40 volunteers helping in this event. The volunteers do everything from watching the doors to changing the names and scores on the automatic scorers, to bringing water to the players. The Youngstown State bowling team helped out, setting up the bleachers and equipment for the tournament and competed in the Pro Am on Saturday.
Camelot staff: Camelot proprietor Bob Smith has been all over the center all weekend. He also was very pleased the way his staff has come through for this event. "I have seen my food service people, led by Elaine Battista, come out at 7 in the morning to present Camelot's customer service in a positive light. The staff has made the visitation by the tournament pros something they have never seen," Smith said. "The tournament staff and players have told me they have never been anyplace where the staff is so accommodating. For me as a proprietor that is so gratifying." Smith has also gone out of his way. He had members of the GBT staff to his house and then took them to dinner Saturday night.
First-day highlights: There were no perfect games shot on the first day of the tournament. The top score was 289. Kerry Fulford had the first 10 strikes in the second game of the day before leaving a 10 pin, while Charlie Juliano had 10 strikes in a row before missing in the eighth game of the day.
