Sharks 4, Lightning 2
TAMPA, Fla. -- Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau scored power-play goals to help San Jose beat Tampa Bay. The Sharks, with the NHL's top power-play unit, converted two of three chances. Ryane Clowe scored his first career NHL goal, Mike Grier added an empty-net goal and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 18 shots for San Jose. Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis scored power-play goals for the Lightning.
Avalanche 4, Wild 1
DENVER -- Milan Hejduk had his second two-goal game of the week, Ian Laperriere scored his 100th NHL goal and Jose Theodore made 20 saves for Colorado. Hejduk also scored twice Monday night against Los Angeles. Tyler Arnason added a goal, John-Michael Liles had three assists and Brett McLean finished with two assists to help Colorado snap Minnesota's three-game winning streak. Hejduk's second goal -- at 12:40 of the second period -- was the first power-play score the Wild have given up on the road this season. Minnesota, with the NHL's top penalty-killing unit, had killed 17 straight power-play chances on the road. Pavol Demitra scored for Minnesota.
