Calcagni 60th is occasion for family celebration



POLAND -- The Outback Steakhouse in Boardman was the setting Sept. 24 as the family of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Calcagni, 37 Orchard Drive, gathered to honor the couple on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the celebration dinner were their children and their spouses, Jean and Gene Wargo of New Middletown and Joe and Cyndi Calcagni of Boardman, along with their six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Joseph A. Calcagni, is deceased.
The former Antonette Popio and Mr. Calcagni were united in marriage Sept. 14, 1946, at Immaculate Conception Church, Youngstown. They are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown.
Mrs. Calcagni, a homemaker, is a member of the church festival committee and the senior citizens club.
Mr. Calcagni served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a member of the Amphibious Forces in the South Pacific. He retired in 1986 as a property unit manager after 15 years of service with the James A. Henderson Co. and after 30 years with Allstate Insurance Co. in Youngstown. He is an officer with the Vestibule Club and a member of the church festival committee, the senior citizens club, Italian-American Veterans Post 3, Morra League and the National LSM Association.
