YOUNGSTOWN -- Nuptial vows were exchanged by Erica Marie Fischer and Michael John Sawchyn, both of Stow, as they were united in marriage by the Rev. Jordon Turano during a 2 p.m. ceremony that took place Sept. 30 at St. Dominic Church.
A reception was held at Fonderlac Country Club in New Springfield to honor the couple before they left on a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico.
They live at 1211 Tall Grass Circle, Stow.
Parents of the bride are J. Bernard and Suzanne Fischer, 866 Fairfield Drive, Boardman. The groom is a son of Marsha Sawchyn of Middleburg Heights and the late Ivan Sawchyn.
Sequins, pearls and beads embellished the bride's strapless A-line gown of white satin. It featured ruching at the fitted waist and a ribbon-laced corset back.
Maria Elana Harkins of Fort Leavenworth, Kan., was the honor attendant. She wore a burgundy gown.
The duties of best man were shared by Dante Altieri of Akron and Richard Murphy of Berea. Ushers were Major Patrick Harkins of Fort Leavenworth and Dr. Gregory Sawchyn of Columbus, a brother of the groom.
The bride graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Kent State University, where she is pursuing a master's degree in business administration. She is a credit analyst at Sky Bank in Green.
The groom is manager at Charter One Bank in Hudson. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from KSU.
