Frostburg St. 14, Westminster 6
FROSTBURG, Md. -- Josh Weese (Beaver Local) returned a fumble 23 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter for Westminster, but the Titans were stuffed offensively. Frostburg State (2-5) outgained Westminster (2-6), 338-226, including a decisive 246-51 advantage rushing. The Bobcats took a 7-6 lead with 3:46 remaining in the first quarter on a 9-yard run by Matt Clark and scored their final points on a 1-yard sneak by quarterback Andre Dixon with 7:47 remaining in the first half. The Titans threatened late in the game, but a sack on fourth down at the Frostburg 44 ended the drive. Frostburg State's Antoine Lewis rushed for a game-high 121 yards on 17 carries, while Westminster quarterback Kevin Franz was 14-of-33 for 175 yards. Franz was also the Titans' leading rusher with just 18 yards. Jordan Belosh caught four passes for 68 yards and Jordan Blinn had 17 tackles for Westminster.
Rochester 38, Grove City 21
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Aaron Molisani threw two touchdown passes and Matt Bielecki ran for two more to lead Rochester. Molisari completed 17 of 23 passes for 221 yards for Rochester (6-2). He connected with Jay Vanderstyne on a 15-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, and with Pedro Sosa on a 5-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter. Bielecki rushed for 144 yards on 29 carries and scored on runs of 4 and 1 yards. Grove City (1-7) was led by Andrew DiDonato, who completed 27 of 47 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns, but he was also sacked four times and intercepted twice. DiDonato connected with Scott Fichter on touchdown passes of 33 and 12 yards and with Ian Tobin on a 9-yard scoring pass.
Bethany 21, Thomas More 17
EDGEWOOD, Ky. -- Bethany held Thomas More to 252 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers to win the Presidents' Athletic Conference game. The Bison (4-4, 2-3 PAC) trailed 14-0 at halftime, but quarterback Brent Owens threw touchdown passes of 5 yards to T.J. Parker (Fitch) and 45 and 14 yards to Matt Cruse, the last coming with 59 seconds remaining in the game. Owens was 21-of-35 on the day for 228 yards. Cruse caught eight passes for 91 yards.
Earlham 24, Hiram 16
RICHMOND, Ind. -- Justin Rummel threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns to lead Earlham (3-5, 1-4 North Coast Conference), which took a 7-0 first quarter lead when Rummel connected with Manny Myers for a 28-yard score. Hiram (0-8, 0-5) led 10-7 midway through the second quarter after Derrick Beczynski's 32-yard field goal and a 20-yard touchdown pass from Matt Pratt to Nic Borling. Rummel gave the Quakers the lead for good when he threw a 22-yard TD pass to Joe White late in the first half.
Allegheny 30, Ohio Wesleyan 13
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Mario Tarquino rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown, and the Gators (5-3, 3-2 NCAC) held Ohio Wesleyan to 173 total yards. It was the first night game in NCAC history and played in a myriad of weather conditions. The teams combined to complete just 15 of 31 passes for only 148 yards.
Slippery Rock 24, Edinboro 21, OT
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Ryan Daniel kicked a 41-yard field goal in overtime for Slippery Rock. Slippery Rock (6-3, 3-2 PSAC West) had the ball first in overtime. Edinboro's (4-5, 1-3) overtime possession ended when Clint Forsha forced and recovered a fumble after sacking Trevor Harris. Edinboro tied the game at 21-21 with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Harris to Kyle Witucki with 0:57 left. The touchdown capped a 9-play, 61-yard drive. Harris completed 20 of 29 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns. He also connected with Ryan Valasek on a 57-yard touchdown pass and with Rich Cerro on a 40-yard scoring strike. Slippery Rock also scored on a 42-yard pass from Nate Crookshank to Paul Favers and runs of 3 and 2 yards by Travis Sarver. Crookshank completed 16 of 28 passes for 214 yards.
Ohio Dominican 41, Geneva 14
COLUMBUS -- Chris Reisert passed for 298 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Ohio Dominican had 590 yards of total offense. Marcus Roberts rushed for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns for ODU (5-3, 2-2 Mid States Football Association), which led 20-0 at halftime. Geneva (3-4, 1-3) closed to 27-14 in the third quarter on two Justin Sciarro TD passes. Sciarro was 16-of-32 for 229 yards, but threw two interceptions.
Walsh 24, Urbana 7
NORTH CANTON -- Marc Pullen passed for a touchdown and ran for another to lead Walsh over Urbana. Pullen completed eight of 23 passes for 155 yards with one interception and two sacks. He threw a 35-yard scoring pass to Antwain' Reine in the second quarter and had a 1-yard TD run in the third. Walsh (9-0, 4-0 MSFA) had 340 yards on offense while holding Urbana (5-4, 1-3) to 180. Jeff Tallman scored on a 4-yard run for Walsh with about five minutes remaining. Urbana's score came on a 6-yard pass from Ryan Gehlert to Marc Burr in the second quarter. Gehlert finished 12-of-31 for 97 yards. He had two interceptions and was sacked twice.
Malone 28, Taylor 14
UPLAND, Ind. -- Bernard Payton rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns to help Malone defeat Taylor. Payton's 6-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter capped an 11-play, 65-yard drive and gave the Pioneers a 14-0 lead. Malone (5-3, 3-2 MSFA) went up 17-0 when Steve Powell recovered a fumble in the end zone. Anthony Lee led the Trojans (1-7, 0-5) with 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.
