Rapist's outburst leads to sentencing delay

The prosecution is asking for a 90-year to life prison term for the child rapist.

WARREN -- Convicted rapist Allan Jackson Jr. was supposed to be sentenced Thursday, but sentencing never took place after his obscenity-laced courtroom outburst.
Jackson, 35, of Warren, was found guilty April 19 in the courtroom of Judge John M. Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court of five counts each of raping a 12-year-old girl and pandering in obscenity.
Prosecutors had recommended to Judge Stuard that Jackson be sentenced to 90 years to life in prison.
After the victim's mother gave her impact statement to the court, Jackson vehemently proclaimed his innocence to the judge.
He also used obscenities while yelling at the victim's mother, who was sitting toward the back of the courtroom. At one point, the 12-year-old climbed onto her mother's lap and clasped her arms around her neck as if she were frightened.
The judge ordered deputies to remove Jackson from the courtroom and rescheduled his sentencing for 11:30 a.m. today.
Trial proceedings
During the trial, Mike Burnett, an assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, showed that Jackson forced the girl to have sex with him five times while he was baby-sitting her. He used a cellular phone to take photographs of the acts.
Jackson forced the girl into sexual conduct in the basement of the girl's Warren home. He is not related to the girl.
During the trial, defense attorney Samuel Bluedorn of Warren countered that there were too many inconsistencies in the prosecution to find Jackson guilty.
During the mother's impact statement, she termed Jackson a "thief in the night" who thought he'd never get caught.
She said her daughter looked up to Jackson and "he betrayed her."
"He scared my daughter for the rest of her life, so why shouldn't he have to pay for the rest of his life?" she told the court.
