YOUR OPINION MATTERS: The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown is looking for interested voters to assist in its effort to improve the election process in Mahoning County.
Since 1986, the league has monitored the county election process with the goal of educating voters. For the first time the league is asking the public to help by reporting observations made while voting.
Voters are asked to visit the league's Web site -- www.cboss.com/lw -- to obtain a questionnaire. Responses will be summarized and included in the league's election report, given to the county board of elections.
Also, the league's Voter Information Guide, listing candidates and issues on the Nov. 7 ballot, is available for free at numerous locations including libraries, high schools and most senior citizens centers.
Candidates forum: Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services Inc. is holding a forum for Ohio Legislature candidates at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at its Poland location on West Western Reserve Road. The event is presented in conjunction with the Advocate of Not-For-Profit Services for Older Ohioans, an Ohio-based senior advocacy group.
