FUTURE PLANS Chaney vs. East

YOUNGSTOWN -- Although City Series football came to an end after 79 seasons following the Chaney-Wilson contest Thursday there will still be a Youngstown City champion crowned, beginning next year. John Tullio, Superintendent of Athletics for Youngstown City Schools, announced that Chaney and the new East High School will play every year in week 10 for the "City Championship.""It's a done deal," Tullio said. "We are excited to start this new tradition each year and the game will always be in week 10."Chaney coach Ron Berdis was pleased to learn of the matchup. "It's a great deal," Berdis said. "It's a nice gesture and it will keep that flavor of a championship alive and develop into a great rivalry over the years."
