Downtown Kiwanis holds installation

YOUNGSTOWN -- Tom Eisenbraun of Poland was installed as president of Downtown Kiwanis Club of Youngstown when the club kicked off its 91st year of service to the community during its Oct. 6 meeting.
Also inducted at the ceremony conducted by George Grim, Division 21 lieutenant governor, were Gary Winslow, president elect; James Long, vice president; and Natalie Spencer-Scott, secretary/treasurer.
Community service
In keeping with its major service focus, "Young Children-Priority One," the club has held a number projects to benefit the development of children in Youngstown. Its project for "Make a Difference Day" tomorrow will be "Walk The Magic Mile," teaming up with St. Elizabeth Health Center to raise funds for pediatric trauma prevention and to purchase pediatric back injury support boards to be distributed to local ambulance paramedics.
During his term, outgoing president Jerry Osborne started a Kiwanis Builders Club for students at the Athena School of Excellence for Girls, and other service activities have included such projects as the YMCA, Campfire, Boys and Girls Club, Junior Achievement, Athena School of Excellence and Youth Leadership Mahoning Valley.
