Game time: 1:30 p.m., Mount Union Stadium, AllianceSeries history: Mount Union leads, 27-12Scouting report: Mount Union is coming off a 14-0 win over Baldwin-Wallace, while Capital blanked Otterbein, 26-0. This could be Mount Union's biggest test of the season. Both teams have high-scoring offenses and stingy defenses. MUC is averaging 54.7 points while holding rivals to 5.3. Capital is scoring 40.6 points per game while limiting opposition to 7.9. MUC is led by QB Mike Jorris who has completed 73 of 114 passes for 1,199 yards and 20 TDs with only two interceptions. WR Pierre Garcon has caught 35 passes for 709 yards and 12 TDs, while RB Nate Kmic has rushed for 888 yards in 118 attempts and 11 TDs. Md.Series history: Westminster leads, 8-2-1Scouting report: Westminster beat Bethany, 49-13, while Frostburg won its first game of the season, 7-3 over Union (Ky.). Sophomore LB Josh Weese (Beaver Local) was named defensive MVP and received the "Big Play" honor for his first-quarter, 64-yard interception return for a TD against Bethany. In the other Titans' weekly awards, junior FB Josh Kutzer was named special teams and offensive MVP, while sophomore OL Jack Seifert and sophomore LB Jordan Blinn were credited with the "Big Hit" of the week. Also, the scout team players of the week were sophomore TB Mark Amaismeier on offense and freshman LB Mike Gibbs on defense. Kutzer started for the first time this season and rushed for a career-high 61 yards in six carries. Senior WR Jake Buzard (West Middlesex) scored his first career TD on a 15-yard reception in the second quarter. Game time: 1:30 p.m., Thorn Field, Grove City, Pa.Series history: First meetingScouting report: Rochester sailed past Worcester Polytechnic, 34-7, last week, while Grove city lost to Washington & amp; Jefferson, 52-18. Grove City was held to only 15 plays in the second half against W & amp;J. But the Wolverines had several standouts. Scott Fichter caught a season-long, 45-yard pass and had five catches for 84 yards and one TD. Matt Weil and QB Andrew DiDonato each ran for TDs, and DiDonato threw for a career-high 193 yards to give him 939, the most ever for a Grove City freshman QB. Game time: Walsh leads, 11-0Scouting report: Walsh continued its best start in school history as the No. 4-ranked Cavaliers outlasted Ohio Dominican on the final play of the game, 37-31, while Urbana rolled past Seton Hill, 33-7. With the score tied at 31-31, sophomore QB Marc Pullen of the Cavaliers hit Mike McGill for a 21-yard gain to the ODU 44-yard line with three seconds to play. After the teams traded timeouts, Pullen hit McGill down the left in the end zone for the game winning score. Pullen completed 10-of-20 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Rob Lash caught five passes for 95 yards and McGill four for 90 yards. Game time: 1 p.m., N. Kerr Thompson Stadium, Slippery Rock, Pa.Scouting report: Slippery Rock bowled over Lock Haven, 35-0, last Saturday while Edinboro blanked Clarion, 13-0. The Slippery Rock defense received PSAC Special Mention by allowing Lock Haven only 45 yards, including minus 11 yards rushing and only three first downs. The Rock QB Nate Crookshank completed 16 of 21 passes for 171 yards and two TDs with no interceptions. Slippery Rock coach Dr. George Mihalik needs only one more win to tie former coach N. Kerr Thompson for the most wins at the school.
