Man charged in robbery of Walgreen's
BOARDMAN -- A 23-year-old Market Street man was charged with robbery, accused of demanding money and threatening a clerk at a drugstore.
An employee at Walgreen's, Market Street, told police that a man, later identified as Nicholas J. Grossi, came into the store about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday wanting to buy cough medicine, but he didn't have any money.
About a half-hour later, he returned, came up to the register with cold medicine and a magazine and told the clerk to open the register and give him all of the money, the clerk told police.
He then reached into the waistband of his pants and said, "Don't make me kill you," according to a police report.
After the clerk gave him money, he fled.
An officer who was in the area found a taxi driver who had just gotten a call to pick someone up on Southern Boulevard to take him to Judson Avenue in Youngstown.
The officer went to the Southern Boulevard address and found Grossi, whom the store employees identified as the robber.
