Firefighters say blaze was caused by arson
YOUNGSTOWN -- City firefighters said arson was the cause of a blaze that destroyed a vacant, two-story frame house at 205 Hine St. shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters were able to get into the house and knock the flames down, but said there was so much debris on the second floor that they couldn't extinguish the blaze. The house burned to the ground as firefighters sprayed a water curtain to protect a nearby occupied home. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
