Three to be arraigned in Subway robbery
YOUNGSTOWN -- Willie Anderson, who police said used a gun around 11:20 a.m. Monday to rob the Subway restaurant on West Rayen Avenue, was arrested with two others on the East Side after police pursued a maroon minivan in which Anderson, 54, of North Bruce Street, had been a passenger.
A robbery note used at the restaurant was found in Anderson's black hoodie during the jail booking process, police said. The minivan driver, James Stephenson, 26, of Duck Creek Court, Austintown, and another passenger, Develyn Greene, no age or address available, were arrested on charges of complicity to aggravated robbery.
Police said 170 found on Greene was taken in the Subway robbery. The three men were expected to be arraigned today in municipal court.
