DAYTON -- Wright State opened the game with two quick goals but the Penguins held the Raiders scoreless in the second half in a 2-0 loss Sunday.
YSU is 2-13, 0-6 Horizon League, while Wright State is 11-3-3, 3-2-1.
Stephanie Habner and Jodie Shoaf scored for Wright State.
Caitlin Bodzioney had seven saves for the Penguins.
YSU concludes the regular season at Cleveland State Wednesday at 7 p.m.

SVC football
WARREN -- Warren Harding High's Sidney Glover was named Steel Valley Conference football player of the week.
Glover (6-foot, 210 pounds), a senior tailback and safety, ran for two touchdowns of 46 and 85 yards in the Raiders' 26-8 win over Rayen School.
Glover finished with 173 yards on six carries.
TAC football
HUBBARD -- Hubbard's 8th-grade football team Liberty, 16-6, recently, to win the Trumbull Athletic Conference championship.
The Eagles finished the season with a 7-0 record and outscored their opponents, 212-95.
The season marked the second straight unbeaten campaign for the team.
TAC-MAC volleyball
The TAC-MAC junior high volleyball tournament was conducted recently.
Canfield and Newton Falls won the 7th-grade championships, while Hubbard and Poland won the 8th-grade titles.
The tournaments were hosted by Girard (7th) and Hubbard (8th).
Canfield hockey
KENT -- The Canfield Developmental Hockey club won its season opener, 5-1, over Tri-County Bantam Saturday.
Brennan Allen stopped 19 shots in goal.
Jared Taylor had two goals and an assist, while Brandon Nightingale had a goal and an assist. Mike Gorgacz and Tyler Emery also scored goals, while Riley Emery and Stephen Ferko had assists.
Area ace
COLUMBIANA -- Jon Reynolds of Columbiana scored a hole-in-one recently at Valley Golf Club.
Reynolds, 70, scored his first ace on the No. 2 hole using a 9-wood.
His effort was witnessed by Roger Tafini, Gene Potesta and Paul Peppel.
Special Olympics
YOUNGSTOWN -- An Area 11 Special Olympics swim meet will be held Oct. 29 at Youngstown State from 1:45 to 4 p.m.
Approximately 120 athletes, representing teams from Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, Stark, Summit and Trumbull counties, will compete.
The meet is sponsored by the Fairhaven Special Olympics program of Trumbull County and will serve as a qualifier for the Special Olympics State Aquatics meet at Ohio State in December.
Pintarics finish well
TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Pintaric brothers ended their season at the Sports Car Club of America National Championship races at Heartland Park last weekend.
Drivers from around the United States, Canada and Mexico competed to crown a champion in 25 classes.
Bill Pintaric Jr. of Liberty, driving a Nissan 200sx sponsored by WRP Investments and Kryderacing, finished fifth in the GT Lite class after starting 10th. His race was marked by rainy and wet conditions.
David Pintaric of Canfield, driving a Touring One class Dodge Viper sponsored by WRP Investments and Kryderacing, finished sixth after starting 13th. He also won the Sunoco Hard Charger Award for his advance in the race.
The brothers are planning for the 2007 season with a possible bid to the 24 hour race at Daytona in late January.

Southern Illinois coach suffers seizure
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois football coach Jerry Kill was hospitalized Sunday after suffering a seizure shortly after taping a weekly television show, according to the university.
Tests performed on Kill, 45, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital came back normal, the university reported in a press release, citing his wife, Rebecca. She said her husband was resting comfortably Sunday afternoon and hoped to return to work soon.
The coaching staff will continue to prepare for Southern Illinois' next game at Missouri State Saturday, Salukis defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys said.
Bunting out at UNC
RALEIGH, N.C. -- John Bunting is out as North Carolina's football coach but will remain with the Tar Heels through the rest of this season, school officials said Sunday night.
Bunting met with athletic director Dick Baddour earlier in the day and was told he would not return next season.
