Golf roundup
*LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Justin Rose was still on the course and still atop the leaderboard when the sun went down Friday.
Rose, coming off a 12-under 60 on Thursday, was 17 under through 16 holes when the second round in the Funai Classic at Disney was suspended because of darkness. Clubhouse leader Tag Ridings was second, four strokes back after a 66.
Rose also had a four-shot lead when the round started following a 70-minute fog delay. The 26-year-old Englishman shot the 60 Thursday on the Palm Course, and was nearly as good Friday on the tougher Magnolia Course.
Ridings was at 13-under 131. Troy Matteson (65) was 12 under, and Robert Damron (65) and Marco Dawson (66) were another stroke behind.

The 50-year-old Funk, a seven-time winner on the PGA Tour who has made 24 of 28 cuts on the regular tour this year, had six birdies in his bogey-free round on the Oak Hills course. Champ-IRL merger not imminent
SURFERS PARADISE, Australia -- Champ Car series co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven dismissed the notion that the circuit and Indy Racing League are even remotely close to a merger.
In June, following a meeting between Kalkhoven and IRL founder Tony George, there were optimistic reports from Indianapolis that the two American-based open-wheel circuits might finally end their decade-long differences.
The IRL, which began in 1996 in competition with the CART series, split driver, team and fan loyalties, sinking television ratings and affecting sponsorships.
