Returns from music tour
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Jody Guinn, Westminster College adjunct music professor, recently returned from a three-week European tour with the Cleveland Orchestra, which played concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy. It was the orchestra's first performance in Switzerland, and the troupe took part in the Lucerne Festival, which was directed by world-renowned conductor and composer Pierre Boulez. Guinn earned her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University and master's from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She played second harp for this tour.
Rally planned at Malone
CANTON -- Malone College will have a Take Back the Night rally at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Conference Center of the Brehme Centennial Center. The program will conclude with a candlelight walk on campus. Karen Abel Jepsen, chairwoman of the Domestic Violence Project Inc., will be the guest speaker. Jepsen spearheaded the first Take Back the Night march and rally in Canton in 1996.
Veterans Day program
BESSEMER, Pa. -- The Mohawk chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America is having its eighth annual Veterans Day Recognition Program from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 10. M.B.A. degree program
BUTLER, PA. -- Local professionals who would like to earn a master's degree in business administration to advance their careers are invited to learn more about a new program through Butler County Community College at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Business and Health Professions Building, Room 183 on the BC3 main campus. BC3 has partnered with Indiana University of Pennsylvania's M.B.A., Executive Track program to offer the advanced degree at BC3 beginning in January. The part-time evening program is designed to be completed in two years to meet the needs of professionals who are interested in enhancing managerial, analytical and decision-making skills in their disciplines to excel in upper-level management positions. It is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Courses will be taught from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Leadership conference
