McRae, Norwood pace Ohio past Buffalo, 42-7



Eastern Michigan handed Toledo its fourth straight conference loss.

ATHENS -- Kalvin McRae ran for two touchdowns and William Norwood caught two touchdown passes to lead Ohio to a 42-7 victory over Buffalo Saturday.
McRae scored on a 7-yard run in the first quarter and a 33-yard run in the second quarter. He finished with 109 yards on 17 carries for the Bobcats (5-3, 3-1 Mid-American Conference).
Norwood caught touchdown passes of 3 yards from Austen Everson and 10 yards from Brad Bower.
Everson also scored on a 10-yard run. Everson was 11-of-17 passing for 112 yards and Bower completed all three of his passes for 35 yards.
W. Michigan 41, Ball State 27
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ryan Cubit completed 20-of-24 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns to lead Western Michigan.
The Broncos (5-2, 3-1 MAC) sacked Ball State quarterback Joey Lynch eight times and held the Cardinals (2-6, 2-3) to 9 yards rushing.
Lynch finished 24-of-30 for 290 yards and three touchdowns.
E. Michigan 17, Toledo 13
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Pierre Walker scored on an 18-yard run with 36 seconds remaining for Eastern Michigan.
Walker's touchdown snapped the Eagles' six-game losing streak and came after Toledo took its first lead of the day, then fumbled on a two-point conversion that Eastern Michigan (1-6, 1-3 MAC) returned.
The Rockets (2-6, 0-4), who hadn't lost to Eastern Michigan since 1999, took a 13-9 lead with 3:11 remaining after an Eagles penalty kept a drive alive.
N. Illinois 43, Temple 21
DEKALB, Ill. -- Northern Illinois beat winless Temple, extending the Owls' losing streak to 20 games, the longest in the nation.
Phil Horvath passed for 253 yards and two touchdowns and backup Dan Nicholson added two scoring passes.
Temple did hold Garrett Wolfe, the nation's leading rusher, to 45 yards on 17 carries.
