SCRIPPS HOWARD
Even the littlest of ghouls is on the prowl for the perfect Halloween costume.
It's creeping up on parents, too.
According to Yahoo! Shopping, 34 percent of consumers (including adults) plan to dress up in costumes this year.
And while "Star Wars" characters and "Harry Potter" look-alikes were hot in 2005, the Disney Store predicts princesses, pirates and pixies (think Tinkerbell) will be the dress code this season.
Perfect timing, since Disney just released a special edition of "The Little Mermaid." And Captain Jack Sparrow is still growling "Arggh!"
But let's say you're not the costume type (and you're really not into scaring little kids), but you want to get into the spirit of the evening.
What to wear?
Of course, you can always turn to the reliable witch's hat, but how about a T-shirt?
This year is the 40th anniversary of the classic cartoon "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." To mark the occasion, we found a line of retro tees that feature Snoopy and Woodstock (the little bird). They're really cute and would be suitable for trick-or-treating with the kids.
The Snoopy Boo T-shirt is available at Hot Topic and online, www.hottopic.com, for 19. The Woodstock Witch and Trick or Tweet tees will be available at www.ronherman.com for 60.
