Butler branch plans activities

Student artists will be performing throughout the day.
HOWLAND -- The Trumbull Branch of The Butler Institute of American Art is offering something for everyone on Make A Difference Day on Oct. 29.
Whether you are 5 or 105, you can enjoy learning about art in the museum by making art in a wide variety of media. Activities for the entire family are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the facility, at 9350 E. Market St.
Local student artists will perform throughout the day. Students from the Warren Western Reserve Drama Club will present excerpts from their upcoming play, "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," by C.S. Lewis, which will open at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Warren Western Reserve auditorium.
Art classes
Seventh- and eighth-grade art pupils from Warren Western Reserve will teach and conduct art classes for all interested attendees, and there will be a special appearance by the Positive Force Drill Team from Warren under the direction of Rosselle Burch at 2 p.m.
Bailey, holistic health-care practitioner, longtime drummer and dancer, will facilitate a drum circle.
Local youth organizations will set up information tables in the museum informing the community about their functions. The Lake to River Girl Scouts, Community Solutions, the Warren Public Library and College Tech from YSU are among those participating in the information fair.

The museum will accept canned- food donations at the door for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
This project is a collaboration between the Butler and local businesses as well as organizations in the community that reach out to youths.
