Prosecutor fired over nude walk

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) -- The city has fired a prosecutor charged with public indecency after he was allegedly seen on security cameras walking around naked in a government building.
Scott Blauvelt's actions hurt the credibility of the city's law office and its employees, Law Director Hillary Stevenson wrote in records released Wednesday.
She informed Blauvelt on Tuesday that he had been fired, the records said.
Blauvelt's attorney, Michael Gmoser, said he plans to appeal his client's dismissal. He had been on paid leave since Oct. 6.
A guard monitoring a security camera spotted a naked man investigators identified as Blauvelt in a building that houses county offices the night of Oct. 5, authorities have said. The night before, security video had captured Blauvelt naked in another area of the building, where city offices are located, authorities said.
Blauvelt, 35, was charged with two counts of public indecency. Each charge carries a sentence of up to a month in jail and 250 fine.
Gmoser has blamed Blauvelt's behavior on mental illness. Blauvelt was seriously injured in a 2005 car accident and is on medication for seizures, Gmoser has said.
