Alliance man charged with inducing panic

CANFIELD -- An 18-year-old Alliance man has been charged in connection with a phone call someone made to Mahoning County Career and Technical Center last week saying that a gun was going to be brought to the school.
Brandon J. Musser-Durm, a student at MCCTC, has been charged with inducing panic, police said. The penalty upon conviction is one to five years in prison and a maximum fine of 10,000.
Canfield Sgt. Chuck Colucci said Musser-Durm admitted calling MCCTC and saying he overheard a threat that a gun was going to be brought to school.
He was due in Mahoning County Area Court today for arraignment. The school closed for one day last week based on the potential threat of violence.
