Lawrence flu vaccine clinics set



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Jameson Health System will offer communitywide flu vaccine clinics. The clinics are designed to meet the needs of adults in Lawrence County and will follow CDC guidelines.
The clinics are as follows:
Friday: Mohawk Community Health Center, 341 Mohawk School Road, from noon to 2 p.m.
Saturday: Jameson South Campus, 1000 S. Mercer St., from 9 a.m. to noon.
Monday: Challenges (Office on Aging is located at Schenley Square, 2706 Mercer Road, New Castle, Pa.), 1 to 4 p.m.
Next Wednesday: New Wilmington Community Health Center, 138 S. Market St., New Wilmington, from 2 to 5 p.m.
To avoid delays in receiving the flu vaccine, clinic officials offer these guideines:
Flu vaccine will be administered to adults 18 and older according to the CDC guidelines.
People with allergies to a previous flu vaccine injection, eggs, chickens, Thimerosol (mercury) or latex, or people with Guillain-Barr & eacute; syndrome or other neurological disorders should not receive the influenza virus vaccine.
Cost is 30, and traditional Medicare, Security Blue and Freedom Blue will be accepted. Advantra, Health Assurance, Health America and other insurances and HMOs are not accepted.
Be sure to bring all your insurance cards, wear a short-sleeved top or shirt, and bring your glasses.
