"13 Nights of Halloween" (8 p.m., ABC Family): 'Tis the season to be frightening, and starting Thursday, scary films galore count down the nights till Halloween.
"Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," the director's campy classic, is first, with Johnny Depp voicing the story of a young man who mistakenly marries a bride from the underworld. Other scary fare includes "The Sixth Sense" at 8 p.m. on Friday.
On Sunday at 8 p.m., "The Initiation of Sarah" (a new remake of a 1978 movie) tells the tale of a college student with mysterious powers.
"Ugly Betty" (8 p.m., ABC): Everyone knows the gal at the center of "Ugly Betty' could use some sartorial embellishments. But while her excited co-workers have a closet-cleaning, swag-hoarding day at Mode, she's too busy with other duties to participate. Adding to her woes is the fact that her father's health insurance has been cut off.
"After Innocence" (8:30 p.m., Showtime): This documentary tells the compelling story of seven men who were wrongfully imprisoned for decades and their struggles to rebuild their lives after being exonerated. The film raises important questions about human rights and society's moral obligation to the innocent.
"Smallville" (8 p.m., CW): We finally get some of Green Arrow's back story, such as why he's Green Arrow and not, like, Purple Arrow.
"The Office" (8:30 p.m., NBC): Michael goes overboard when he learns his predecessor has died.
