Candidate involved in domestic dispute

Police told the pair to stay away from each other.
WARREN -- A domestic dispute involving the Republican candidate for Trumbull County commissioner culminated with a traffic accident.
Candidate Niki Frenchko filed a domestic violence report Sunday against her husband, Warren G. Harding High School teacher Andrew S. Tripoulas. On Monday, Tripoulas filed a complaint with police against his wife.
Frenchko is running against Frank Fuda, a Niles Democrat, in the Nov. 7 general election.
According to Monday's complaint, Tripoulas told police that he and his wife have been having marital problems.
Went to school
Tripoulas said Frenchko went into the high school Monday, attempted to drop off their child, and was escorted off school property by Chuck Thomas, assistant principal.
Frenchko said Tuesday night she had gone to Harding on Monday morning with their 2-year-old daughter to get money from her husband, and to retrieve medical records that she had left in his car. Frenchko said she was not escorted from the property, but her husband did ask her to leave.
After school let out, Tripoulas told police, he was driving his car and she was following him in a minivan. Both vehicles touched, causing minor damage to the van.
Frenchko said she told police that her driver side door was dented.
Police told Frenchko and Tripoulas to stay away from each other. Tripoulas responded that he has moved out of their Mulberry Avenue house and into a motel.
In the report Frenchko filed with police against her husband, she said he attempted to take a video recorder from her while they were home.
Frenchko stated that the two were not arguing or fighting, but he grabbed her arm. Once Tripoulas got hold of the recorder, he broke it and left the house, according to the complaint.
Police noted that Frenchko had no visible injury to her arm.
