Summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield city and Austintown Township:
CANFIELD
Oct. 12
Items missing: An East Main Street woman reported she went to her safe deposit boxes at Farmer's National Bank and found that her boxes were empty. Missing were certificates, income tax papers, sterling silverware, rings, money market papers and much more.
K-9 search: Boardman police asked for a K-9 search assist at Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road after an alarm went off and police found forced entry into the building through the roof. Police thought the suspects were still inside, but the searched turned up nothing.
Student threats: The juvenile officer was advised at Canfield Middle School, 42 Wadsworth St., by the principal that a male student had threatened other middle school students en route to school on the bus. A list had been developed entitled "Kill list" with 11 names on it.
Unauthorized use of credit card: A woman from an apartment in Hunter Woods said her debit card was misused at Farmer's Bank in the Colonial Plaza.
AUSTINTOWN
Oct. 9
Drug abuse: An Austintown man was placed in county jail after being arrested on the 3000 block of New Road on a charge of domestic violence and also was issued a summons on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Attempted aggravated robbery: A black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds attempted to rob the Best Western Motel, 870 N. Canfield-Niles Road. Nothing was taken.
Criminal damaging: Numerous scratches were made to a 2001 Dodge Durango at Pete and Charlie's, 4176 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle windshield was damaged at a home in the 10 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
Theft: 2,700 was stolen from a bedroom drawer at a home in the 600 block of Duke Circle.
Theft: 149.16 was stolen from an employee at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at The Gatsby, 54 Westchester Drive.
Auto theft: A silver 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera was taken at the Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Boulevard.
Criminal damaging: Subjects were throwing rocks off the state Route 11 overpass to North Four Mile Run Road.
Oct. 10
Breaking and entering: A fence was cut at Lorant Development, 3700 Oakwood Ave.
Theft from auto: A rear license plate was stolen from an auto in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Avenue.
Auto theft: A 1996 Chevrolet Lumina was stolen at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Oct. 11
Drug offense: A Niles woman was issued a summons on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in the 4500 block of Burkey Road.
Auto theft: A red 1993 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Theft: A Boardman woman was issued a summons on charge of theft of miscellaneous merchandise at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Copper wires were taken from Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road.
Identity theft: A Sprint account was opened with the victim's name and address on it at a home in the 4000 block of Lanterman Road.
Theft: 39.40 in fuel was taken from the BP gas station, 5502 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A blue BMX Diamond back 20-inch bicycle was stolen from apartments in the 1000 block of Compass West.
Oct. 12
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Charley's, 4455 Kirk Road, by breaking through a vent on the west side of the building.
Theft: Items were taken by an evicted tenant in the 100 block of Forest Hill Drive.
Burglary: A neighbor entered a residence in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Street.
Theft: Items were stolen from the front yard of a residence in the 3000 block of Meridian Road.
Oct. 13
Theft from auto: An Ohio registration was stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of North Niles-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: Vehicles damaged by a pellet gun at Import Exchange, 5317 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: Vehicles were damaged at Don Munn Auto Sales, 5317 Mahoning Ave.
Fraud: A credit card account was opened without the victim knowing it at a home in the 1000 block of Yolanda Place.
Drug offense: A Youngstown man was placed in the county jail on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of a motorcycle after being arrested at an apartment in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.
Theft from auto: A .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun was stolen from a vehicle.
Aggravated robbery: A money bag with cash was taken at gunpoint at First Place Bank, 4390 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A laundry coin box was damaged and money stolen in a laundry room in the 4000 block of New Hampshire Court.
Burglary: A man entered a garage to steal a compressor in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.
Explosive device: A juvenile attempted to make an explosive device at a home in the 30 block of North Roanoke Ave.
Burglary: Checks were missing at a home in the 200 block of North Yorkshire Blvd.
Oct. 14
Drug offense: A Canfield man was issued a summons at Woodmere Drive and Western Place on a charge of possession of marijuana and placed in county jail on a warrant for probation violation.
Theft from auto: A television and stereo were stolen from an auto at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.
Theft: 20.10 in fuel was stolen from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: 28 in fuel was stolen from Sheetz gas station.
Theft: 24.50 in fuel was stolen from Sheetz gas station.
Theft: 23.92 in gasoline was stolen from Sheetz gas station.
Theft: 23.01 in fuel was stolen from the Shell gas station, 4200 Mahoning Ave.
Oct. 15
Disorderly conduct: An Austintown woman was issued a summons on a charge of disorderly conduct at West Webb Road and state Route 46.
Criminal damaging: A gate was cut at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.
Theft: A Halloween decoration was stolen from a yard in the 300 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
Theft: Two comforters were stolen from K-Mart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.
Aggravated robbery: A male in a brown or gray mini-van stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the BP station, 3602 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: A Salem man was arrested at Mahoning Avenue and Forest Hill Drive on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Theft: A lawn ornament was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.
