Best Bets on TV Tonight

"America's Top Model" (8 p.m.. The CW): Who knew you had to have some polar-bear tendencies to make it big in the world of modeling? On tonight's episode of "America's Top Model," the gals are forced to do a photo shoot in an ice-cold pool. It's too much for one contestant, who winds up developing hypothermia.
"Christmas in Rockefeller Center" (8 p.m., NBC): It's time to light up the big tree in the Big Apple. But while thousands gather outdoors for "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," we'll be able to chill out in our living rooms and be treated to tunes by Enya, Lionel Richie, Marina McBride, "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks and more.
"Great Performances" (9 p.m., PBS): "It's strange to be at an event like this and still be alive," marvels the 58-year-old James Taylor. But the beloved singer-songwriter is very much alive, and, surrounded by other musical giants, he is saluted on a "Great Performances." "A Tribute to James Taylor" gathers Jackson Browne, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Jimmy Buffett, David Crosby, the Dixie Chicks, Dr. John, Carole King, Taj Mahal, Cheech Marin, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and many others. It was taped in February at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
