VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Dominic James hit a 3-pointer with three seconds remaining and scored the final 18 points for Marquette. James made a 3-pointer with 37 seconds left that gave Marquette (7-0) a 62-59 lead. But Jarryd Loyd answered with a 3 over James with 21 seconds remaining to tie it. James then hit the winner from the top of the key to finish with 22 points. Valparaiso had one last chance, but Brandon McPherson's 35-footer at the buzzer bounced off the left side of the rim. The Crusaders (3-2) have lost 17 straight games to ranked teams since making it to the round of 16 in the 1998 NCAA tournament. Wesley Matthews added 11 points and Jerel McNeal had 10 for Marquette. Shawn Huff led Valparaiso with 22 points.
No. 9 Texas A & amp;M 75,Arkansas-Little Rock 35
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Acie Law scored 17 points and Joseph Jones finished with 16 to help Texas A & amp;M get the win. The Aggies (6-0) had four players score in double figures. Antanas Kavaliauskas added 13 points and Josh Carter had 11. Rashad Jones-Jennings, averaging a double-double coming into the game, had 10 points and five rebounds for the Trojans (4-3).
No. 15 Syracuse 72, Holy Cross 64
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Demetris Nichols scored 21 points and Paul Harris had 14 for Syracuse. It was the first meeting between the teams since 1981, and Syracuse (7-0) overwhelmed the Crusaders at the start, racing to a 23-7 lead in the first 13 minutes and then holding on at the end. Keith Simmons led the Crusaders (5-1) with 22 points.
No. 18 Georgetown 69, Ball State 54
WASHINGTON -- John Thompson III beat up on kid brother Ronny Thompson, guiding Georgetown to a win over Ball State in the first meeting between the sons with the Hall of Fame coach. Jeff Green scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half and DaJuan Summers finished 12 for the Hoyas (4-1). Micah Rollin and Anthony Newell scored 10 points to lead the Cardinals (2-4).

No. 11 LSU 65, New Orleans 45
NEW ORLEANS -- Sylvia Fowles had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and LSU rolled to another lopsided victory. It was the latest dominant performance for the 6-foot-6 center known as Big Syl, who has four double-doubles this season and has scored in double figures in all but one game for the Lady Tigers (8-1). Erica White had 15 points, six assists and five steals for LSU, which has won three straight and has not had a victory margin of less than 20 points this season. Le'Della English scored 17 for UNO (4-2), and Cookie Johnson added 10 points.
