COLETTE SMALESGREGORY PETRAKOS
WARREN -- Gregory Petrakos, 3650 Villa Rosa Drive, Canfield, and Colette Smales, 1134 Eastland Ave., honeymooned at Cancun, Mexico, after their wedding Oct. 21 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
The 4 p.m. ceremony was solemnized by the Revs. Dennis Michalis, Thomas Constantine, John Karabatsos and Photios Tomarakos. The bride was escorted by her brother, Dino Smales.
A reception was held at St. Demetrios Community Center for the daughter of Sylvia Smales of the Warren address and the late George Smales, and the son of Frank and Voula Petrakos, 790 Truesdale Road, Youngstown.
Wine-colored gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Sophia Margetis, and the bridesmaids, Joanne Ioannides, Katherine Savakis, Calypso Bletsos, Katie Chaka and Annette Sotus. Junior bridesmaid was Marina Bletsos, and flower girl was Penny Haloulos.
Peter Haloulos was best man, koumbara was Dr. Frank Petrakos, and groomsmen were Alex Sotus, Marinos Foannides Calvin Pannunzio, John Bletsos and Nikitas Kolidakis. Junior groomsman was Vassili Bletsos, and ring bearer was Alexi Sotus.
The bride and groom graduated from Youngstown State University with bachelor's degrees, hers in health education and his in applied science.
Mrs. Petrakos is a counselor with Belmont Pines Hospital in Liberty, and Mr. Petrakos is a personal banker with Chase Bank and owner of Jay's Famous Hot Dogs in Boardman.
