A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman and Poland:
BOARDMAN
Nov. 17
Felonious assault: A male told police that six people got out of a van at St. Charles School, 7345 Westview Drive, and struck him with a metal pipe, breaking one of his knuckles and injuring his ear.
Arrest: Police arrested a 49-year-old Boardman man during a traffic stop near Southern Boulevard when they learned he was wanted on charges of driving under suspension and driving under the influence.
Assault: An 83-year-old Boardman man faced an assault charge after an elderly Boardman Boulevard woman alleged he slapped her in the face at their apartment complex.
Recovered property: Someone found a purse in the Gabriel Bros. parking lot, 850 Boardman-Poland Road.
Possible drugs: A Jaguar Drive woman turned over to police a soda can she found under her couch that may have contained suspected marijuana debris.
Assault/criminal damaging: Police charged a Youngstown woman, 22, with assault and criminal damaging after police responded to a fight at Payless Shoesource in the Southern Park Mall. A woman suffered a cut lip and a bloody nose and said she was attacked while trying on a pair of shoes. Six other pairs of shoes were damaged.
Theft: A woman accidentally left her cellular phone at Chili's Grill & amp; Bar, 7403 Market St., but it was gone when she returned for it.
Vandalism: A man came home to his South Avenue apartment and found that a rock had been used to break a window.
Nov. 18
Theft: A checkbook was stolen from a home in the 700 block of Glenpark Road.
Theft: A metal tin was taken from a vehicle in the 700 block of Tudor Lane.
Theft: Assorted candy bars were stolen from Boardman Convenient Food Mart, 8271 Market St.
Assault: Officers took into custody a 15-year-old boy after responding to a fight involving a Shields Road man who alleged the boy assaulted him and refused to leave the victim's property. Charges against the boy were assault, aggravated trespassing and underage consumption of alcohol.
Arrest: A Niles man, 24, faced felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, failure to comply with police, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and attempted felonious assault on a police officer. Authorities said the suspect led them on a brief chase after refusing to pull over, crashed his vehicle near Judson Street, fled on foot and returned to retrieve a loaded gun he dropped.
Weapons: While conducting a traffic stop, officers arrested a 42-year-old Boardman man, saying they found several hunting knivesin the car. The man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and operating a vehicle under the influence.
Drug paraphernalia: As Boardman police investigated a suspicious vehicle, they arrested a 24-year-old Niles man on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, reporting they found a suspected crack pipe.
Nov. 19
Theft: A customer stole three cartons of cigarettes from a BP gas station, 1090 Boardman-Poland Road.
Burglary: An apartment in the 7500 block of Market Street was broken into.
Domestic violence: A New Waterford man, 41, faced two counts of domestic violence after a woman told police her daughter's life was threatened and that the daughter was assaulted at Marc's, 7121 Tiffany Blvd.
Criminal damaging: A woman's vehicle's tires were slashed at her Forest Park Place residence.
Menacing: A Niles man, 50, was charged with menacing, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business. The intoxicated man threatened his Huntington Court girlfriend and failed to cooperate with authorities, police said.
Drugs: Police made two drug-related arrests after stopping a car near Mathews Road and South Avenue and determining it had been stolen. Facing felony charges of receiving stolen property and drug possession were a 42-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both of Boardman. Suspected crack cocaine and a syringe were found, officers said.
Stolen property: A Youngstown woman, 56, accused of stealing checks and forging them to buy merchandise at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, was picked up on felony warrants charging her with forgery and receiving stolen property.
Nov. 20
Domestic violence: A 68-year-old man was arrested on a warrant charging him with domestic violence after a Colwyn Court woman reported being a victim.
Bad check: A bad check was passed at First Place Bank, 3900 Market St.
Theft: Someone removed four flower pots from a patio in the 800 block of Pearson Circle.
Arrest: Police charged a 22-year-old Youngstown man with obstructing official business and failure to comply with police after stopping his car near Midlothian Boulevard. The man fled on foot and was wanted on four warrants, officers said.
Burglary: A break-in occurred in the 6300 block of Northlawn Avenue.
Identity fraud: A Youngstown man, 27, was charged with identity theft and obstructing official business, and was wanted on a felony warrant charging him with complicity to theft. He was accused of giving police numerous false names during a traffic stop and of using another's identity to avoid arrest.
Arrest: Authorities picked up a 20-year-old Boardman man on a warrant charging him with receiving stolen property relating to items stolen from a vehicle in June.
Citation: While responding to a disturbance at The Youngstown Sports Grill, 7463 South Ave., police cited a 47-year-old Poland woman on a charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
POLAND
Nov. 17
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle near U.S. Route 224 and Audubon Lane, officers arrested a 33-year-old Poland man wanted on a warrant from Montgomery County, charging him with failing to appear in court. The original charge was failure to pay child support.
