'Idol' singer to perform at Ford recital hall

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jaclyn Hodos, who won the 2005 "American Idol" regional competition at Eastwood Mall, will sing with the Del Sinchak Band and the Sardich Singers at Ford Family Recital Hall on Dec. 1.
The 2006 Boardman High graduate and Youngstown State University music student will also sing at First Night Youngstown on Dec. 31.
Although Hodos did not make it to the "American Idol" show, she was offered production of a CD. The result was "Merry Christmas, with love, Jacklyn," which was recorded at Peppermint Records in Youngstown last year.
The album is again available this holiday. The album, recorded last year, can be bought at the Market Street Walgreens, Oasis Tanning, Lenscrafters in Boardman Plaza, Pizza Joe's (Mahoning Avenue location), Barnes & amp; Noble, and at Peppermint Records.
Hodos will sign copies of the CD at 6 p.m. Friday at Borders in Niles; 7 p.m. Tuesday at Poland Library; and 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at Barnes and Noble in Boardman.
Hodos began singing publicly at age 11 when she sang the national anthem at the start of a YSU girls basketball game. She currently works as a solo performer at nursing homes and assisted living centers, as well as at private events.
She has also sung the national anthem at Cleveland Cavaliers, Youngstown SteelHounds and Mahoning Valley Scrappers games.
