NBA ROUNDUP \ Monday's games
Mavericks 93, Bobcats 85
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Jason Terry scored five straight points in a late run as Dallas held off Charlotte for the Mavericks' sixth straight win. Terry hit a 3-pointer with 1:38 left to give the Mavericks an 89-85 lead. On the next possession, Greg Buckner stole the ball from Gerald Wallace and fed Terry for the decisive layup. Devin Harris added 17 points and Jerry Stackhouse returned after missing a game with a strained groin to score 15 for the Mavericks, who continue to surge after an 0-4 start. Emeka Okafor had 22 points, 13 rebounds and set a team record with eight blocks. Wallace scored 21 points for the Bobcats, who have lost six of seven.
Rockets 97, Knicks 90
NEW YORK -- Yao Ming had 26 points and nine rebounds in another strong game against the Knicks, and Tracy McGrady added 24 points for Houston. Rafer Alston finished with 17 points for the Rockets, who beat the Knicks for the fifth straight time. The 7-foot-6 Yao was only 6-of-14 from the floor -- with one miss coming when 5-foot-9 Nate Robinson blocked him in the closing seconds of the third quarter. But he had plenty of help from McGrady, who scored 15 in the second half, including six during a decisive 10-1 surge in the fourth quarter. He also made three of Houston's 10 3-pointers.
Grizzlies 95, Magic 86
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Hakim Warrick scored 15 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, keying a Memphis rally. The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak for Memphis, which rallied from a seven-point deficit with 5:33 left. The Magic saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with the loss.
