Generations Tour eventkudos go to Smith, paper
Fanfare:
Two weekends ago, the Senior Pro Bowlers came to town and I would like to thank the following.
I would like to thank The Vindicator for the articles it had for the event and Paul "Scooter" Trgovac for his fine articles.
I would like to thank Bob Smith, owner of Camelot Lanes, for holding the event in our area and the leagues that bowl in his establishment for giving up their time slots so that the tournament could be held.
My last comment is for the bowlers in this area. Where were you?
It is a shame that the bowlers in this area do not support the bowling events that go on here. We cry that we can't get sponsors for teams or leagues. No wonder.
Do you support the sponsors we do have? I certainly know that the tournament was not supported by the bowlers we have in this area.
The event is going to be held again next year and I for one am going to do all I can to support it. How about you?

Bias permeates the air,or does it permeate print?
Fanfare:
Once again, it is abundantly clear the sports department at the Vindicator is totally biased toward the hated Pittsburgh Steelers and have an unfavorable attitude toward the Cleveland Browns.
Both of these teams had identical 2-6 records. They are tied for last place in the AFC North division. Both teams win on Nov. 12.
However, when you read about the two teams in Monday's edition, the headlines say it all. Of the Steelers win, the headline reads" A super performance" and never mentions that the Saints lost to an inferior team. Of the Browns win, the headline reads "Browns prevail on Vick's errors" and says "the Falcons lost to one of the NFL's worst teams." The last time I checked, Cleveland and Youngstown were in the same state. If you have any bias at all, it should be in favor of your home state team. But I would be willing to bet that when the Browns are once again a dominant team in the NFL (and they will be soon) and the Squeelers are once again a pushover (as they are now), that the Vindy writers and editor will jump off the Squeeler band wagon so fast and into the front seat of the Browns' bandwagon.
I can't wait for the day.
