Church offers its Alternative Gift Market

MINERAL RIDGE -- First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., is offering a gift purchasing/giving alternative at its Alternative Christmas Gift Market at 11:30 a.m. Sunday after worship. The board of deacons is the sponsor of the activity, which is open to the public.
Participating will be Angels for Animals, Niles Community Services and Warren Family Mission. Representatives from each agency will offer information about the programs and services.
"Customers" may make a donation in honor of someone to one or more of these organizations. Each donation comes with a Christmas card on the organization and the amount donated.
For example, Angels for Animals may list what it costs to feed a cat or dog for a day or the cost of spaying or neutering an animal. For Niles Community Services and Warren Family Mission, a donation may cover the cost of feeding a family for a day or helping to pay a utility bill. Donations may be made to cover these expenses as a gift for someone.
