New health company

AKRON — Summa Health System and Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna have formed the Summa Robinson Health Ventures, a nonprofit joint operating company, effective Jan. 1, 2007.

The joint operating company will be responsible for managing the operations of Robinson facilities and will develop and manage joint ventures between the two organizations, hospital officials said.

As part of the affiliation agreement, Summa will provide support to Robinson in the areas of finance, materials management, managed care contracting and other general operating and administrative services, officials said.

Robinson Memorial will become an affiliated member of Summa Health System, but will retain its name and logo.
