50-year-old Euclid man shot to death in Warren
WARREN -- The city has recorded its fourth homicide of the year with the death of a Cleveland-area man.
Waymon Keller, 50, of Euclid, was gunned down Tuesday outside an apartment on Lancer Court. He died Tuesday night in St. Joseph Health Center.
It was one of three shootings in the city Tuesday.
Police were sent to an apartment complex off West Market Street about 10 a.m. and found Keller lying face down in the 3000 block of Lancer.
Police said Keller was shot once with a shotgun. The assailant fled around the apartment complex and through an opening in a fence.
Police said they have a suspect, but no arrests have been made.
There were eight homicides in the city in 2005, the police department said.
Meanwhile, Anthony Dukes, 19, is in critical condition at St. Joseph's after suffering multiple gunshot wounds about 8 p.m. outside his residence at 2460 Brier St.
Police found Dukes after neighbors called police because they heard gunshots. According to a police report, Dukes knows the identity of his assailant.
A third man, Goodwin Lofton, 42, of First Street, was released after treatment at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital for two bullet wounds of the left leg.
Lofton showed up at the hospital, police said, but wouldn't cooperate with them.
