The newspaper wants to know about your interests.
The Vindicator is conducting a market and readership survey to learn about media habits and shopping patterns of area residents.
Surveys are being conducted online by Portland, Ore.-based Pulse Research, a company that works with retailers and media companies nationwide. The online survey is available at www.pulseresearch.com/TheVindicator. A link to the survey is also on the home page of Vindy.com.
The survey will stay online until a minimum of 500 validated responses are collected. Upon completing the survey, respondents (who must be 18 years or older) will be entered in a drawing for one of the following: a 27-inch Magnavox TV/VCR/DVD player, a 4 GB Apple iPod nano, or a $25 gift certificate to Nemenz IGA stores (10 certificates to be awarded). All responses are strictly confidential.
The purpose of the market research study is to better understand media usage patterns, gather suggestions from readers and improve the newspaper and Web site.
Earlier surveys
Previous research studies employed by The Vindicator have exclusively used telephone survey methods. Online studies are helpful in gaining new insights. The data also are tabulated into helpful information to guide retailers in the services they provide.
Pulse Research works closely with Sammy Pappert, president of Belden Research of Dallas, Texas. Belden has long served the media and retailing industries. Pappert will be in the Mahoning Valley in January 2007 to present the findings of the study.
