PROMOTIONS
Commanding general
Army Brigadier Gen. Simeon G. Trombitas, commanding general of the Special Operations Command in Korea, recently was promoted to his current rank. Trombitas, the son of John and Dorothy Trombitas of Lordstown and a graduate of Lordstown High School and the U.S. Military Academy, has served in various infantry and special forces assignments during his career. He is married to the former Kellie Snyder of Lake Milton. They have two sons, Paul and Simeon.
Undergoing pilot training
Air Force 2nd Lt. Steven J. Stroney was promoted to his current rank upon graduation from Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. A 2000 graduate of Ursuline High School and a 2005 graduate of Youngstown State University, from which he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology, Stroney is assigned to Vance AFB, Okla., for pilot training. Stroney is married to the former Lisa Merrell of Canfield, and is the son of Len and Marilou Stroney of Boardman.
DEPLOYED
Supporting mission in Iraq
Army 1st Lt. Adam S. Loutzenhiser has been deployed overseas to a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Loutzenhiser, a communications officer, is the son of Leland E. Loutzenhiser of Berlin Center. He graduated in 1999 from Western Reserve High School, Berlin Center, and received a bachelor's degree in 2003 from YSU.
Operation Iraqi Freedom
Army National Guard Spec. Anastasia M. Wilson has been deployed to Iraq to support the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Wilson, a human resources specialist, is the daughter of Bill and Katie Wilson of Poland, and a 2003 graduate of Columbiana High School.
Human resource specialist
Army Reserve Pfc. Jaimie L. Dine has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dine, a human resource specialist, is the daughter of Jodi L. Dine of East Liverpool and granddaughter of Betty L. Fisher of Chester, W.Va. She graduated in 2005 from East Liverpool High School.
Aboard USS Enterprise
Seaman Apprentice Nathan Baker, a 2005 graduate of South Range High School in North Lima, has been deployed to the Middle East aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. Baker, a son of Jack and Susan Baker of Canfield, has been stationed at Naval bases in Mississippi and Virginia.
ADVANCED TRAINING
Captain, officer courses
Army Capt. Gerald A. Nunziato Jr., son of Jerry and JoAnne Nunziato of Poland, recently graduated from the Signal Captain's Career Course at Fort Gordon, Ga., and then went to Fort Bragg, N.C., to complete training as a civil affairs officer. Nunziato graduated in 2000 from YSU, where he received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with minors in environmental engineering, mathematics and military science. Nunziato participated in the Army ROTC program and received his commission as a second lieutenant upon graduation. Nunziato, a 1995 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, Md., has served two tours in Iraq and has received numerous commendations, including the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge.

Army Staff Sgt. Paul R. Santone has graduated from the Army Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala. Santone, an instructor/writer assigned to the 4th Battalion, Special Forces Warfare Training Group, Fort Bragg, is the son of Paul R. and Susan A. Santone of Southington, and a 1996 graduate of Chalker High School, Southington.
Water specialist course
Army Reserve Pvt. Chris W. Trent has graduated from the Water Treatment Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Lee, Va. Trent is a 2006 graduate of Trumbull Career & amp; Technical Center, Warren.
Automated logistics
Army Reserve Pvt. Anthony M. Rogers has graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Va. Rogers, the son of Steve R. Rogers of New Castle, Pa., and Marylee Rogers of East Palestine, is a 2005 graduate of New Castle Senior High School.

Victoria D. McDorman attended the Air Force Junior ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Aerospace and Technology Honors Camp at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and Robins Air Force Base, Ga. McDorman is the daughter of Colleen R. Black of Cortland. Her father and stepmother, Greg and Elena McDorman, live in Reedsville, Pa. She is a student at the Trumbull Career & amp; Technical Center.
