Dinner party held for Montellas on anniversary
CAMPBELL -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Montella Sr., 629 Hyatt Ave., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 14 during a dinner party held in their honor at The Oak View in Struthers.Hosts for the occasion were the couple's children and their spouses, Gordon and Sue Dorman, Steve II and Yvonne Montella, and Joseph and Dawn Montella Jr. Also participating were the couple's nine grandchildren. Completing the family circle is one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Montella and the former Barbara Humphreys were united in marriage Oct. 13, 1956, at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Monella worked for his father at Isaly's on Oak Street until he was drafted into the Army, where he served from 1958 to 1960. He was employed by Nabisco Inc. as a driver for 34 years until the firm closed, then was employed by Stroehman Bakery, Fred Martin Ford and Floral Express. He is presently employed by IGA and is a member of the Knights of Columbus 3144.
Mrs. Montella worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. as an operator and for Market Inventory Service. She is employed at Opinions in Boardman and is a member of the Red Hat Society.
