Delfres to observe 61st anniversary Thanksgiving Day

BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Delfre of Boardman will celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary with their family on Thanksgiving Day.
A dinner party will be held Nov. 23 at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, John and Rebecca Delfre of Boardman.
Attending will be the couple's children and their spouses, Joseph Delfre and Esther Orlando, both of Boardman, Katherine and Christopher Honsinger of Rochester, N.Y., and Gabriel Delfre Jr. of Martinez, Calif. Also participating will be the Delfres' six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Another grandchild is deceased.
Mr. Delfre and the former Dorothy Pondillo met in the summer of 1945 at Idora Park dance hall and were married six months later on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 1945, at St. Ann Church in Youngstown. They renewed their marriage vows at St. Luke Church, where they are members.
Mr. Delfre taught at Immaculate Conception School in the 1960s. He was employed at Wean United in Youngstown before retiring in 1982. Afterward he worked at Sparkle Market in Youngstown, where he retired in 2000. Mrs. Delfre is a homemaker.
