YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Kenneth Simon officiated at 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at New Bethel Baptist Church as Sonya Lynn Turnage and William Cheverez Jr., both of 5708 Forests Hills Blvd., Columbus, were united in marriage.A reception was held at St. Charles Hall in Boardman to honor the daughter of Mary D. Hall, 1378 Atkinson Ave., and the late Curtis L. Kinnie, and the son of William and Marta Chever & eacute;, 3373 Maize Road, Columbus.
The couple, who are planning a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, and Hawaii at a later date, live in Columbus.
The strapless lace mermaid-style gown worn by the bride was enhanced with tulle, sequins and pearls and featured a chapel train.
A cinnamon-colored gown was worn by the bride's daughter and honor attendant, Tejai Beulah. Wearing an ivory gown was the junior bride, Ashanti Allen, the bride's cousin, and ivory and sage-green gowns were worn by the flower girls, the bride's niece, Mya Hall, and the groom's niece, Malina Chever & eacute; .
Best man was the groom's brother, Gabriel Chever & eacute; , junior groom was the groom's son, Gianni Cheverez, and ring bearers were the bride's nephews, DaVahn Brown and J'Saun Hall.
The bride is employed as a merchandise processor at Limited Logistics Services in Columbus.
The groom served nine years with the U.S. Army and is a security officer with Franklin County Commissioners Department of Public Facilities Management in Columbus.
