BOARDMAN -- St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park was the setting at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 for the wedding of Shannon Marie Durkin and David Mark Barnes, both of 1520 Mansion Place, Pittsburgh. The Rev. David Foster presided.
Parents of the bride are Joseph Durkin and Bernice Durkin, both of Youngstown, and the groom's parents are Richard and Margaret Barnes, 233 Waggaman Circle.
After a reception at Avion on the Water in Canfield, the couple left on a wedding trip to San Francisco and Sonoma County, Calif.
They live at the Pittsburgh address.
The bodice of the bride's strapless ivory satin gown was enhanced with crystals.
Carrie Sargent of Charlotte, N.C., was the honor attendant. She wore a red gown, as did the bridesmaids, Kerri Kornbau of Boardman; Amy Barnes of Columbus, the groom's sister; and Juli Barnes of Girard, his sister-in-law.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, R. Paul Barnes of Girard, and serving as groomsmen were Sean Durkin of Youngstown, the bride's brother; Carmen DeCerbo of Youngstown; and Anthony Kolesar of Columbus.
Mrs. Barnes graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's and a master's degree in biology. She is a research specialist with the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Barnes is a technician with A-1 Concrete Leveling in Pittsburgh. He graduated from YSU with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
