Hewitts observe 65th anniversary at family dinner

YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hewitt, 1523 Country Club Ave., celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 30 during a family dinner party held at the Belleria Restaurant in Struthers.
Arrangements for the event were made by the couple's daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Bill Cardarelli of Struthers, Linda and Phil Hulewat of Mentor and Phyllis and Tom Murphy of Lake Placid, Fla. There are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren in the family.
Mr. Hewitt and the former Bobbie Nell Carter were married Nov. 29, 1941, in Gulfport, Miss.
Mrs. Hewitt is a homemaker. Her husband served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II at Kessler Air Base in Biloxi, Miss. Afterward he worked in the engineering department at U.S. Steel Co., Ohio Works, until retiring in 1978. He is a great-great grandson of area pioneer Daniel Shehy.
