Erdners observe 60th anniversary at art gallery



AUSTINTOWN -- The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Erdner, 1795 Brockton Drive, was celebrated Oct. 21 during a dinner party held at Winslow's at Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.
Also celebrated was Mrs. Erdner's 80th birthday, which will be Tuesday.
Invitations for the event were extended by the couple's children and their spouses, Nancy and Richard Coleman, Columbia Station; Bonny and Michael Tarantino, Austintown; Kenneth and Lisa Erdner, New London, N.C., and Ginger and Ron Deuley, Youngstown.
Rounding out the family circle and participating in the event were the couple's nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon, Pa., was the setting Oct. 3,1946, as Mr. Erdner and the former Virginia Herdon were united in marriage. They are members of Zion Lutheran Church, Youngstown.
Mrs. Erdner is a homemaker, bridge player and member of the Saxon Club.
Mr. Erdner served with the U.S. Navy aboard a submarine during World War II. Afterward he was employed as a train dispatcher with Conrail in Youngstown until retiring in 1986. He is a Mason and also a member bridge player and member of the Saxon Club.
