Boardman rallies to defeat McKinley, 12-8



BOARDMAN -- The Boardman High baseball team, behind 8-5 after two innings, rallied to post a 12-8 victory over Canton McKinley Tuesday in a Federal League game.
The Bulldogs (13-12, 6-8) scored seven runs in the second inning.
Armani Johnson of Boardman (19-11, 8-6) hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning to tie the score at 8 all.
The Spartans scored four more runs in the sixth inning.
Rich O'Brien (7-1) came on in relief in the fourth inning to pick up the win.
Anthony Porter hit a single, double and home run to spark the Spartans. Johnson also hit a double, while Kevin Sikora and Jeff Olenych each had two hits.
