CLASS B ROUNDUP Livi Steel upends defending champs



Corey Vukovic struck out 15 of the 16 batters he faced in a Saturday game.
STRUTHERS -- Matt Shields hit a game-winning RBI single in the seventh to lead Livi Steel past Mink Financial, 3-2, in a Class B game on Sunday at Cene Park.
Shields had a two hits and Josh Swepis added a two-run homer in the first for Livi (1-1). Josh Cooper tossed a five-hitter, striking out five.
Lonnie McQueen (1-1) struck out five in a losing effort for Mink Financial (1-1), which won last year's Class B title. He also had a triple.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 12, Newell Sporting Goods 0
Vince Riola threw a five-hit shutout, striking out four and walking two, as Rondinelli won its second straight.
Corey Collins, Matt Katich and Matt Dado each had two hits for Rondinelli, which scored six unearned runs on seven Newell errors.
Cody Dillon had a pair of singles for Newell (0-2).
Roth Brothers 11, Youngstown Express 9
Korey Young had a two-run double in a three-run sixth inning for Roth (1-1). Sean Zentko, Tyler Miscky and John Wardle each added two hits. Miscky hit a solo homer in the fourth.
Rich Olesky, Dan Gallagher, Mike Berry and Dave Baker each had two hits for the Express (0-2).

Corey Vukovic struck out 15 of the 16 batters he faced, allowing just one hit (a single by Sean Zentko) in five innings to lead Mink.
Robby Porter doubled, singled and drove in three for Mink, while McQueen had three RBIs.
Wharmby Sports 5, Rondinelli Tuxedo 3
John Thomas and Brandon Szabo hit RBI singles in the top of the ninth inning to lead Wharmby.
Zach Revale got the win in relief of Tom Popadak, who allowed just one earned run over the first seven innings and struck out seven. He also had three hits.
Rondinelli's Andy Dobson hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game. Dobson had two hits. Luke Summers went 62/3 innings, allowing two earned runs with five strikeouts.
Astro Falcons 5, Newell's 1
Matt Weir threw a three-hitter, striking out nine and walking three, and Astro Falcons scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to break the game open.
Dave Dejacimo had three hits, including a double, for Astros. Josh Herkulich went the first five innings for Newell's and allowed just one run on three hits. He had five strikeouts and walked five.

Andy Richey scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh.
Richey had three hits while Eric Pirtz tripled and singled. Andrew Sarich added a pair of doubles, and Dane Dobson and Jon Brady each had two hits for the winners.
Ed Gonda went four innings in relief for the win, allowing just one run on two hits with five strikeouts. Dan Gallagher, John Mullins, and Alex Budinsky had two singles for the Express.
R & amp; J Trucking 4, Livi Steel 0
Lou Coppola tossed a five-hit shutout with eight strikeouts.
Bob Herbarger had three hits for the winners, while Manoli Pahoulis had a pair of singles for Livi.
Class AA
Youngstown Metros swept to a pair of victories Saturday, beating Girard Hardware 9-0 and P.I. & amp;I. Express 10-0.
Brent Pitzulo drove in three runs and Dave Vitko added two RBIs in the opener. Grant Sevek had an RBI double, while Mike Holmes picked up the win with the help of Cory Channel as the two limited Girard to just five singles.
In the second game, Lou Kopachy had two hits including a double, while Sevek and Adam Wigley drove in two runs apiece.
Jim Jascoulac allowed just one hit over six innings while striking out four to gain the win. Billy Ballack had the only hit for the Express.
