Transfer man gets jail term for robbery
A man gave a 15-year-old girl Mountain Dew spiked with vodka.

MERCER, Pa. -- Judge Christopher St. John of Mercer County Common Pleas Court recently imposed prison sentences on several people.
William Metz, 40, of Transfer, was sentenced to 11 to 23 months, followed by three years' probation, for felony robbery, for robbing a Farrell gas station last October.
Court documents state on Oct. 11, 2005, Metz went into McQuaid's Sunoco at 105 Division St. and threatened to shoot the cashier if she didn't give him the money. He fled the store with $168.
Metz was also given an additional year of probation for misdemeanor defiant trespass. On Sept. 18, 2005, he entered a residence on Sixth Street, Sharpsville, and would not leave when told to.
Other cases
Richard Kridler, 20, address given as Mercer County Jail, was sentenced to 228 days to two years, followed by two years' probation, for corruption of minors and indecent assault, both misdemeanors.
Court documents state that on Jan. 22, 2005, Kridler gave a 15-year-old girl Mountain Dew spiked with vodka, then engaged in sex with her without her permission or knowledge. The crime took place in Greenville.
Rashean Bridges, 18, of Spearman Avenue, Farrell, was sentenced to two to 23 months for misdemeanor forgery and ordered to make restitution. According to court documents, between July and September 2005, she took nine checks from another woman and forged them, cashing them for a total of $6,100 at banks in Farrell and Hermitage.
Christina Fosnaught, 31, of East Wallace Avenue, New Castle, was sentenced to 23 days to 23 months and ordered to make restitution for theft by deception, a misdemeanor. Court documents state that between July 7 and 18, 2003, she wrote $779 worth of checks on closed accounts to Country Fair, 228 W. Main St., Grove City.
Other sentences
Several people were placed on probation:
Jacqueline Bruce, 34, of Logan Avenue, Sharon, two years, and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service for criminal attempt/theft by deception, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, on Dec. 7, 2004, Bruce submitted an accident claim to the Capitol Insurance Co., but reported the accident occurred on the wrong date and in the wrong vehicle, in order to obtain insurance coverage.
Kenneth Blair, 20, of Dutch Lane, Hermitage, three years, and ordered to make restitution for criminal trespass, a felony. Court documents state that on Sept. 11, 2005, he entered a woman's residence on Elm Avenue, Sharon, and took her purse, which contained three prescription medications and $250 cash.
Emily Bruce, 44, of Prospect Street, Sharon, five years for retail theft, for stealing $79 worth of soup and municipal waste bags on Feb. 17, 2004, at Giant Eagle, 2365 E. State St., Hermitage. The offense is a felony because it is the third or subsequent event.
Ferris Wilcox Jr., 20, of Tomahawk Trail, Mercer, one year for felony criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking. Court documents state that on Aug. 23, 2005, he illegally entered Allen Electrical Services and Paula's Shockingly Good Pizza, both at 422 Lake Latonka Drive, Jackson Township. He did $150 damage to the door of Allen's and took $214 from the pizza shop.
