Ohio Department of Aging has launched a new Web site for older Ohioans. The site is available at either www.goldenbuckeye.com or aging.ohio.gov, and features specialized content areas for older Ohioans and their families, service providers and other professionals in the field of aging. The site provides information about the department and the aging network, as well as general information about outreach and aging issues and links to other Department of Aging Web initiatives, such as a guide to nursing homes, a questionnaire that links individuals to benefits and a statewide database of services for older Ohioans and people with disabilities.
Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 a.m. and noon, drawing at noon and Digital Club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tai chi at noon, and 500 cards and yoga at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Watch Our Weight Support Group and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Hugs and Stitches Sewing Club at 10, square dancing at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 3; and Friday, Youngstown Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information or reservations for these events, call the center at (330) 744-5071.
