HAIR-RAISING: Holy Family School seventh-grader Alicia Summer finds out what happens when she touches a Van de Graff generator, which creates static electricity and makes her hair stand on end. The occasion was a Mad Science Day at the Poland school Friday. Mad Science, a North Canton-based business, does science activities for participating schools. Another science activity involved trying to keep pingpong balls aloft in the airstream of a hair dryer.
